FAQS

  • When should I reach out for speech therapy?

All research supports the “sooner the better” for speech therapy intervention. The “wait and see” approach is no longer supported for a number of reasons. If you have concerns about your child, contact a specialist. There is no harm in getting more information about your child and how best to support them.

  • Can I refer my own child or do I need a pediatrician referral?

Because Heart and Soule Speech Therapy is a private pay/ ”out of network” service, you do not need a pediatrician or outside referral to access speech therapy. However, it is encouraged that your pediatrician is aware that your child is participating in speech therapy and having a referral may be required if you plan to submit to your insurance for reimbursement through a superbill.

  • My child uses an AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) device, can you help with that?

Yes! Heart and Soule Speech Therapy is not conducting AAC evaluations at this time however if your child already has a dedicated device (either through insurance or their school) and would benefit from additional therapeutic intervention and parent training using the device, please contact us to set up a consultation!
